Recipe for Yorkshire Pudding Profiteroles

Ingredients

  • Ingredients:
  • Yorkshire Puddings:
  • 25g of sugar
  • 1 egg beaten
  • 75g of all-purpose flour
  • 55ml of water
  • 75ml of milk
  • 2 tablespoons of sunflower oil
  • Chocolate Sauce:
  • 2 tablespoons of butter
  • 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder, or hot chocolate powder
  • 2 tablespoons of golden syrup
  • Cream- this can either be squirty from a can or homemade whipped cream

Preparation Method

  1. Start by heating the oven to 220°C. Take your Yorkshire pudding tray and add a splash of oil into each of the compartments.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, sieve the flour, adding the egg before beating well, either with an electric whisk or a standard whisk.
  3. Gradually add the milk, water and sugar, beating well after each addition.
  4. Continue beating until you have created a smooth batter.
  5. Divide the batter between each of the compartments in the Yorkshire pudding tray.
  6. Place the Yorkshire puddings into the oven for 25-30 minutes.
  7. To make the chocolate sauce, add the butter, cocoa powder and golden syrup into a sauce pan over a medium heat. Make sure you continue to stir the mixture while it heats up to create an even texture.
  8. When your Yorkshire puddings are cooked and at the right crispiness and golden colour that you prefer, take them out of the oven to cool for a few minutes.
  9. Once the Yorkshire puddings have cooled, with your squirty cream, fill the inside of each Yorkshire with cream.
  10. Taking your homemade chocolate sauce, cover the cream with a thick layer of chocolate sauce.
