Recipe for Margarita Popcorn – The Adult Treat

Ingredients

  • 6 tablespoons of unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons of freshly squeezed lime juice
  • 2 tablespoons of tequila
  • 2 teaspoons of sugar
  • 2 teaspoons of salt
  • 1 bag of plain popcorn
  • 1 ½ teaspoon of lime zest, more if wanting to garnish
  • Slices of lime for garnish

Preparation Method

  1. To make the popcorn in the Chef’n popcorn maker: Place 5 tablespoons of popping corn into the popcorn maker along with 4 slices on unsalted butter.
  2. Place the popcorn maker into the microwave for 2-3 minutes until all the corn has turned into popcorn.
  3. On a medium heat, melt the butter with the lime juice and tequila in a medium saucepan.
  4. Add the sugar, salt and lime zest and stir until the sugar dissolves.
  5. With the popcorn in large cocktail glasses or a serving bowl, pour the mixture over the top.
  6. If you are wanting to garnish the popcorn, place the addition lime zest and slices on top of the popcorn.
