Recipe for Chocolate Brownie Recipe
Ingredients
Ingredients
185g of unsalted butter cut into small cubes
185g of dark chocolate
85g of plain flour
40g of cocoa powder
50g of milk chocolate- cut into chunks
3 large eggs
275g of golden caster sugar
Preparation Method
Take the prepared butter, placinginto a medium sized mixing bowl before adding the dark chocolate that you have broken into small pieces.
In a small saucepan, on a low heat, fill the pan 1/4 full with water before placing the mixing bowl on top of the pan so that it is sitting above the water.
Preheat the oven to 160°C and in the baking dish of your choice, grease the pan before adding baking paper and greasing the baking paper ready for adding the brownie mixture.
Using a sieve and a clean medium sized mixing bowl, sift the flour and the cocoa powder into the bowl.
In a large mixing bowl, crack the three eggs into the bowl before adding the sugar and whisking together so that they have turned thick and creamy. Once the two ingredients have been beaten together, add the melted butter and chocolate, stirring together using a rubber spatula.
Using your sieve, re-sift the flour and cocoa powder into the egg and chocolate mixture, sifting the ingredients into the bowl from side to side before folding into the mixture.
When all the ingredients have been thoroughly folded together, pour the mixture into the prepared tin before placing into the preheated oven for around 25 minutes.
If when checking that the brownie has cooked, if when you wobble the brownie the middle wobbles like jelly, the brownie is not quite ready; when cooked the brownie should have a shiny and papery crust.
Remove pan from the oven and leave the brownie to cool inside of the pan before removing and cutting into squares.
