Recipe for Chinese style Pork Wontons

Ingredients

Ingredients for the filling:

  • 67 wontons sheets
  • 335g pork mince
  • 10 leaves of Chinese leaf
  • 1 pack of Chinese chives
  • 1 pack of coriander
  • 3 spring onion
  • 10 small mushrooms
  • 4 x 1 inch ginger cubed pieces
  • 4 cloves of garlic

    • Ingredients for the marinade:

    • 4 tablespoons of sesame oil
    • 3 pinches of salt and pepper
    • 4 tablespoons of light soy sauce
    • 4 tablespoons of oyster sauce
    • 1 teaspoon of sugar

Preparation Method

  1. Thinly chop the spring onion, Chinese leaf, chives, coriander, garlic and ginger.
  2. Squeeze any excess water from the mushrooms before thinly chopping.
  3. Mix all the ingredients together with the pork mince and add the marinade ingredients.
  4. To make the wontons: add a small teaspoon of the mixture into the middle of the wonton sheets.
  5. Line the edges of the sheet with water so that the dumpling sheet sticks together when folded in half.
  6. Along the edge of your folded sheet, which should now look like a triangle, push down so that the mixture is pushed further into the middle and that the edges have completely sealed.
  7. Pick the dumpling up by the handles so that you have an arrow facing down. Wrap the handles forward so that they overlap and seal the handles together by lining the pastry with water.
  8. Deep fry the wonton for 4 minutes at 180°C until they have turned golden and crispy.
