Banana Bread With Chocolate Chips

We all love a warm slice of banana bread, but by following our recipe with chocolate chips, you will fall in love with the melted chocolate in the middle.

Recipe for Banana Bread With Chocolate Chips

Ingredients

  • 285g of plain flour
  • 4 ripe bananas mashed
  • 1 teaspoon of bicarbonate of soda
  • ½ teaspoon of salt
  • 110g of butter
  • 225g of caster sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 85ml of milk
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • Handful of chocolate chips (as many as you wish)

Preparation Method

  1. Start by preheating the oven to 180°C.
  2. In a small mixing bowl sift the flour, salt and bicarbonate of soda.
  3. In a separate bowl, cream together the butter and sugar. Creaming means to mix together the ingredients until they have turned light and fluffy. You can either use a fork, electric whisk to cream the mixture.
  4. Once you have turned the butter and sugar fluffy, add the two eggs, bananas, vanilla extract and milk and mix until it has been thoroughly mixed into a paste.
  5. Slowly add the flour to the paste, making sure that each little bit of flour you have added has been thoroughly folded before adding more flour to the mix. Continue until all the flour has been added to the butter mix, making sure that it has been thoroughly mixed.
  6. Grease a 2lb loaf pan and pour the mixture into the pan before placing into the oven and leave to bake in the oven for around an hour until it has risen and turned a golden shade.
