About our wood – Our knife handles are made with English native hardwood (beech, ash, cherry and horse chestnut,walnut) from managed woodlands from a small area near Malton in North Yorkshire, and often from gale-damaged boughs. The timber is processed by a team that has worked these woods for over 20 years.
Personalising your knife – We offer a blade engraving service (£9.00, 5 working days, max. 20 characters). Make your knife the perfect gift, for a newly qualified student, professional chef, or a keen cook. Sharpening and maintenance – To maintain its factory sharpness, sharpen your knife every 3 or 4 times you use it, using a manual or electric diamond sharpener at a 20 degree angle. We believe the finest available come from Chef’s Choice in the USA . Hand wash your Forest and Forge knife in warm soapy water and wipe dry as soon as possible. Dishwashing should always be avoided, as should leaving wooden handled knives in water for any length of time.
Due to the law, it is illegal to sell knives to anyone under the age of 18. Dexam will contact you to verify proof of age before dispatching your order. Knives need a special postal booking which may take up to 48 hours to be shipped. Express delivery is therefore not guaranteed on this item.

Any Express orders placed before 2pm on weekdays should arrive the following working day (excluding when delivery would be on Saturday or Sunday). If your order is placed Saturday or Sunday (or on a Bank Holiday), orders will be processed and shipped on the next working day. Any orders to be delivered to the Channel Isles, Highlands and Northern Ireland will take 2 to 4 working days, excluding Sunday delivery. We aim to dispatch all orders the day they are placed to ensure you receive your items as soon as possible.
Due to the massive increase in complexity and cost in sending small orders to Europe following Brexit, and to post-Covid transport issues affecting the rest of the world, we have reluctantly suspended all export sales from this site for the time being. We will reinstate export sales as soon as we regard it as practical.

At Dexam we want you to be delighted every time you shop, but if for some reason you aren’t totally satisfied with your goods, you can return them to us in their original condition. If you would like to return an item you have ordered through our website, please first check our terms below:
Up to 30 days from delivery
Within 30 days of the date you received your order you may return an item if it is faulty or you reject it because: it is not as described on our website, or not fit for the purpose intended or shown, or not of satisfactory quality, including durability. We will refund the full cost of the item and the cost of returning it by first class post to us.

Up to 90 days from delivery
Within 90 days of the date you received your order, you may return an item for any reason. The item must be unused and must be in its undamaged original packaging. We will refund the full cost of the product and the original postage for shipping to you.

Within 6 months of the date you received your order you may return an item if it is faulty. We may offer to repair or replace the item at our cost, including postage. The decision whether to repair or replace the item is at our discretion.

Up to 6 years from delivery
If your product does not last a reasonable length of time, we may refund you some or all of your money back. We will honour guarantees offered by us on our products and will consider refunds or replacements on a case by case basis. It is for you to prove that the product has not failed because of misuse.

NB – Please take care to fully inspect your goods to make sure you are happy with them before disposing of the packaging as failure to do so may result in us being unable to refund you.
Please do not send product(s) back to us without contacting us first. Please telephone our friendly Customer Services team on 01730 811888 during working hours (Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm) or alternatively email [email protected] to obtain authorisation and a returns number. Please have your Order Number handy when contacting us (to save you time), it is in the top right hand corner of your Delivery Note.
There is a returns slip at the bottom of the delivery note that came with your order. Please fill this in, detach and enclose the returns slip with the item(s) you are returning.
NB – You do not need to send back the delivery note as this is your invoice.
Please make sure you package all items securely and sufficiently to withstand delivery. Failure to do so may result in Dexam being unable to refund you.
Please arrange dispatch with your chosen carrier and ensure that you are able to track the return.
When we have received your returned goods and agreed a refund, we will give you a full refund of the amount paid, including original postage, within 7 days. If the product is no longer stocked by us, we may offer you an alternative or a refund. There are no rights to claim for faults that appear as a result of fair wear and tear.
