I’m absolutely buzzing to share this message from Chloe, Project Officer for the bee-rilliant Bee the change campaign:
“Bee the Change!”
The Bumblebee Conservation Trust’s Bee the Change campaign is all about simple, quick micro-actions people can do to make their postcodes more bumblebee-friendly.
It doesn’t matter if you live in the city or the countryside. If you have a garden, a flower pot – or no outdoor space at all. You can Bee the Change wherever you live!
Through the campaign, you can pledge to Bee the Change and carry out quick and simple micro-actions like spotting nearby bumblebees, growing bee-friendly plants, creating wild bumblebee havens, and spreading the #BeeTheChange message with their friends, families and local communities.
The more of us who care about bumblebees, the bigger the difference we can make!
Why Bee the Change?
Bumblebees are familiar and much-loved insects that pollinate our crops and wildflowers. Thanks to their ‘free-bee’ service, more wildflowers can grow and we can enjoy delicious foods like tomatoes and blueberries.
But bumblebees are in trouble. Over the past century we’ve lost millions of the flowers they need to survive. Now we can help our local bumblebees by providing more flowers in our towns, cities, and countryside, and by spreading the word about why bumblebees are so important.
If lots of people can do just one thing to Bee the Change, together we can get these little superheroes buzzing again!
How can people take part in Bee the Change?
The Bumblebee Conservation Trust have created FREE resources and how-to guides to help people spot their local bumblebees, grow bee-friendly plants, and spread the word in their communities.
